ROOSEVELT NATIONAL PARK

Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota is famous for its rugged badlands rock formations and stunning, dramatic landscapes.

The park is divided into three units

South Unit Elkhorn Unit North Unit

THE ACHENBACH TRAIL

You will see lots of wildlife on the trail including bison, prairie dogs, coyotes, pheasants, and even an occasional rattlesnake.

Caprock Coulee Nature Trail is a 0.8 miles long one-way trail in the northern unit.  The nature trail highlights the nature, wildlife, native plants, geological features of the badlands.
