I can’t believe you missed the Orange Cycle Creamery – absolutely the best ice cream in the Tampa Bay area and it is downtown Tarpon Springs. The locals all love it and are addicted to the many amazing flavors – next time come back and don’t forget to stop for ice cream. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED

Have lived in Tarpon Spring for 20 years and love it. One thing I didn’t see you mention is the Greek olive oil soap. I always make sure I have some in the house. It will remove stains of any kind! Try using it to wash your hands, they will feel cleaner than they ever have before!

I have been to Tarpon Springs 10 times if not more…I love Dodecanese Street, love Hellas Bakery and Restaurant…but, across the street there is Limani if you want a quick bite for lunch. He makes the BEST souvlaki, I don’t even remember them better when I am in Greece!! There is outside sitting and you can enjoy the boats going by. I just got back from St. Petersburg and HAD to visit Limani. I believe he is closed Tuesdays and not open late at night…
I LOVE TARPON SPRINGS!! Good grocery shopping for olive oils and anything Greek and good wine selections to bring back home with you.

Got to Tarpon in 1959 at 5 years old moved north in 1974. It’s one of the few places in Florida that have gotten better with age. If you ride bikes the Pinellas trail and other numerous trail will offer you traffic free adventures, exercise and many destinations. I am in Pinellas a week a month now and only use my bike. Check out Pedago electric assist bikes in Dunedin and rent one. Being tired from a long ride will never exist anymore and besides you will feel like a kid again. Motorists that encounter you at intersections are courteous and thoughtful, Pinellas is one of a few places that cycling is the best way to get around.

How can you not have mentioned Pauls Shrimp House on Athens st? They’re a landmark that has been serving fresh seafood for over 79 years and is located right off the main drag.

I, too, live in Tarpon Springs…have since 2010! The Sponge Docks is a “must experience” and the Greek food is excellent, but so is the boating, biking along the Pinellas Trail, kayaking, fishing, birding, Howard Park and Sunset Beaches along with events along Tarpon Avenue including the antique shops, eclectic stores and new craft beer establishments! Tarpon has come a LONG way in the 7 years we’ve lived here. And it just keeps getting better! 🙂

Love to have our amazing little town featured. I myself stumbled across it almost 15 years ago and now proudly call myself a resident. Fun fact.. there are 2 main streets in Tarpon Springs, Dodecanese and Tarpon Ave which also hosts a variety of restaurants, antique shops and amazing finds. From Tarpon Ave, north on Alt 19 there are a number of fun shops, amazing coffee and mouth watering cuisine.
