Enjoyed your comprehensive trip description. Revived memories of our camping trip down the Florida Keys in 1975. The attractions you described haven’t changed much especially the crowds applauding the sunset at the tip of Key West. Our favorite part of the USA! Would love to go back there but it’s a long way from our home in New Zealand. At this time we are armchair travellers, safe here from the pandemic.

In reply to Chris Christoff. Yes, two nights in Key West is perfect to explore the major attractions as well as plan a trip to the Dry Tortugas if you want. For the next stop, consider staying in Islamorada or Marathon. It is exactly mid way from Key West to Miami and you have plenty of nearby attractions including Turtle Hospital, Dolphin research center, Florida Keys brewing company, art galleries, etc. Key Largo is another good option but closer to Miami than Key West.
